Six Thousand Words

{a picture within a picture}

I haven’t been good about toting the ol’ camera around with me lately, mostly due to the fact that I tote about a zillion other things around in my bag instead (do I really need sunglasses and an umbrella? Five kinds of chapstick? A nail polish top coat?). But this weekend I made a concerted effort to slow down and use brute force to make my friends pose for my photography practice. Come on people, we’re making memories here.

I feel pretty lucky to do a lot of the things I do, especially here in beautiful Vancouver. If you haven’t been to Canada’s west, I’m telling you, you’re absolutely missing out. For example, this weekend was the skeleton and bobsleigh world cup in Whistler–seriously, who’s been to that before!? Straight up, those bobsleighs are fast. And I have the shutter speed settings to prove it. Between witnessing four men launch themselves down a murderously dangerous ice track, and launching myself (less quickly) down the side of a mountain, I tell ya it was fantastic this week. Anyway, here’s a small collection of photos from the past few days, and I really hope you like them.

{after mocking the tourists who love to take photos at this lift, I forced him to do the same}
